Jammu, May 14, 2025: In a swift and efficient response, Jammu Police have successfully solved a theft case in the Arnia area within 24 hours of the incident being reported. One accused has been arrested, and the stolen firearm—a 12-bore double barrel gun—has been recovered.
According to police officials, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Arnia by Poonam Devi, wife of Naresh Kumar and resident of Malley-de-Kothey. She reported that an unidentified individual had stolen a 12-bore double barrel gun from her residence.
Following the complaint, an FIR No. 23/2025 under sections 331(4)/305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered. The investigation was entrusted to SI Harjinder Pal Singh under the close supervision of SHO Arnia, Inspector Dilawar Kumar.
Acting swiftly and leveraging both human and technical intelligence, the police team zeroed in on a suspect. Upon sustained interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. He has been identified as Rahul Chandail alias Salute Maar, son of Ramesh Lal, resident of Allah, Arnia.
Based on his disclosure, the police recovered the stolen double barrel gun, successfully bringing the case to a breakthrough.
The case was solved under the supervision of SHO Arnia, SDPO RS Pura, and under the overall direction of SP Headquarters Jammu.
