April 10, Sopore: In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Sopore Police have attached properties worth approximately ₹45 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
The attached assets include a two-storied commercial building, a one-storied bakery workshop, and the second storey of a residential house, all located in Mazbugh, Sopore. The action was taken under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The properties belong to Firdous Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, a resident of Mazbugh Sopore. Investigations revealed that these assets were raised using proceeds from illicit drug trafficking.
By targeting and seizing properties acquired through narco-trade, the police aim to dismantle the financial networks of drug peddlers and deliver a strong blow to organized narcotics operations in the valley. Freezing such illegal assets is a crucial step towards curbing the drug menace and protecting society.

10 अप्रैल, सोपोर: ड्रग तस्करी के खिलाफ बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए, सोपोर पुलिस ने एक कुख्यात ड्रग तस्कर की लगभग ₹45 लाख की संपत्ति कुर्क की है।
कुर्क की गई संपत्तियों में माजबुग सोपोर स्थित दो मंजिला व्यावसायिक इमारत, एक मंजिला बेकरी वर्कशॉप और एक आवासीय मकान का दूसरा मंजिला शामिल है। यह कार्रवाई नारकोटिक ड्रग्स एंड साइकोट्रॉपिक सब्स्टेंसेस (NDPS) एक्ट 1985 के तहत की गई है।
यह संपत्तियां फिरदौस अहमद भट पुत्र ग़ुलाम मोहिउद्दीन भट निवासी माजबुग सोपोर की हैं। जांच में सामने आया कि इन संपत्तियों का निर्माण ड्रग तस्करी से अर्जित अवैध धन से किया गया था।
ड्रग व्यापार से अर्जित अवैध संपत्ति को जब्त कर पुलिस ने नशे के कारोबार में लिप्त माफियाओं को तगड़ा झटका दिया है। इस तरह की कार्रवाई से नशे के कारोबार की जड़ें कमजोर करने और समाज को सुरक्षित बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया जा रहा है।
