Srinagar April 06, 2025: In a significant victory in the battle against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police successfully carried out a series of well-coordinated raids in the intervening night, leading to the recovery of over 30 kilograms of narcotic substances from three separate residences in the village of Wantrag, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mattan.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the first raid targeted the residence of Jehangir Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd Abdulla Khan, where authorities recovered 23 Kgs 330 grams of Charas Powder. A second raid took place at the residence of Reyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Sher Afzal Khan, leading to the recovery of 3 Kgs 670 grams of Charas Powder. The third operation was conducted at the house of Nowshad Pathan, son of Kastiya Pathan, where officers seized 3 Kgs 900 grams of Charas Powder. In total, over 30 Kgs 900 grams of Charas Powder were confiscated.
The three accused individuals have been arrested, and cases have been registered under the relevant sections of the law. Investigations are ongoing, with further arrests and recoveries anticipated.
These operations are part of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ongoing drive to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region. The J&K Police has reiterated its commitment to making the district drug-free and is encouraging the public to report any information related to drug peddling or other illegal activities.
