Srinagar, April 10: As part of the public outreach initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir Government, Srinagar Police organized ‘Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar’ across various Police Stations and Police Posts in the city. In the first phase for April 2025, the event was held at 13 Police Stations and 2 Police Posts across the district.
The meetings were chaired by supervisory officers and jurisdictional police officers, and witnessed participation from civil society members, including representatives from Auqaf Committees, Traders Federations, Transporters, Panchayati Raj members, religious preachers, and local elders.
During the Lok Darbars, participants raised various issues of public concern, such as illegal narcotics trafficking, the activities of sand mafias, traffic congestion, and challenges posed by the floating population. Several issues pertaining to civil administration — including road maintenance, sanitation, public health, and electricity supply — were also discussed and recorded.
SSP Srinagar emphasized that Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar serves as a vital platform for direct interaction between the police and the public. “It is our duty to ensure that every citizen feels heard and that their grievances are addressed promptly. We are committed to building a safer and more secure environment for all,” he said.
Participants were urged to cooperate with police in combating the drug menace and in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements to maintain peace and order. Community members pledged their full support in strengthening police-public relations.
By organizing Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar, Srinagar Police reiterates its commitment to improving transparency, accountability, and public confidence, thereby enhancing grassroots-level policing and grievance redressal mechanisms.

जिला श्रीनगर में थाना दिवस/लोक दरबार का आयोजन
श्रीनगर, 10 अप्रैल: जम्मू-कश्मीर सरकार के जनसंपर्क कार्यक्रम के तहत, श्रीनगर पुलिस ने जिले के विभिन्न थानों और पुलिस चौकियों में ‘थाना दिवस/लोक दरबार’ का आयोजन किया। अप्रैल 2025 के प्रथम चरण में यह कार्यक्रम 13 पुलिस थानों और 2 पुलिस चौकियों में आयोजित किया गया।
बैठकों की अध्यक्षता पर्यवेक्षी अधिकारियों और क्षेत्रीय पुलिस अधिकारियों ने की। इसमें औकाफ कमेटियों के सदस्य, व्यापार संघों और ट्रांसपोर्टरों के प्रतिनिधि, पंचायत सदस्यों, धार्मिक उपदेशक और मोहल्ला बुजुर्गों सहित नागरिक समाज के सदस्य उपस्थित रहे।
लोक दरबार के दौरान, प्रतिभागियों ने नशीली दवाओं की तस्करी, रेत माफिया की गतिविधियों, यातायात समस्याओं और प्रवासी जनसंख्या से जुड़े मुद्दों को प्रमुखता से उठाया। इसके अलावा सड़कों की मरम्मत, स्वच्छता, सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य और बिजली आपूर्ति जैसी नागरिक प्रशासन से संबंधित समस्याओं को भी चिन्हित किया गया।
एसएसपी श्रीनगर ने कहा कि थाना दिवस/लोक दरबार आम जनता से सीधे संवाद का एक महत्वपूर्ण मंच है। “हमारा कर्तव्य है कि हर नागरिक की बात को सुना जाए और उनकी समस्याओं का त्वरित समाधान किया जाए। हम सभी के लिए एक सुरक्षित और संरक्षित वातावरण बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं,” उन्होंने कहा।
पुलिस ने प्रतिभागियों से नशा तस्करी पर अंकुश लगाने और समाज में शांति एवं व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए राष्ट्र विरोधी एवं समाज विरोधी तत्वों की पहचान में सहयोग करने का आग्रह किया। समुदाय के सदस्यों ने पुलिस-जन सहयोग को मजबूत करने के लिए पूर्ण समर्थन का आश्वासन दिया।
थाना दिवस/लोक दरबार के आयोजन से श्रीनगर पुलिस अपनी पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और जमीनी स्तर पर पुलिसिंग एवं शिकायत निवारण प्रणाली को सुदृढ़ करने की प्रतिबद्धता को पुनः दोहराती है।
