Jammu | April 24, 2025: In a major breakthrough, R.S Pura Police have successfully solved three theft cases with the arrest of a prime accused and his three associates. A stolen motorcycle along with a large quantity of vehicle engine parts has been recovered during the operation.
The case originated from a complaint filed by Yashpal S/o Krishan Lal, a resident of Chohala, R.S Pura. He reported that on March 24, 2025, around 12:30 PM, his motorcycle (Registration No. JK02CC-3941) was stolen from outside the Tehsil complex while he was inside the office. On receiving the complaint, an FIR was registered under No. 77/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS at Police Station R.S Pura, and investigation was immediately launched.
Acting swiftly, a special police team was formed under the leadership of SHO R.S Pura Inspector R.S Parihar, supervised by SDPO R.S Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu. Utilizing technical surveillance and reliable inputs, police apprehended one of the main accused, Pawan Kumar S/o Gian Chand, a resident of Bagga Channa, R.S Pura.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and led the police to the location where the stolen motorcycle was hidden. Further raids across multiple locations yielded a significant recovery of disassembled engines, spare parts, and other vehicle accessories suspected to be stolen in recent weeks.
“This is a significant achievement in curbing the recent surge in vehicle-related thefts,” said a police spokesperson. “We are committed to returning all recovered property to their rightful owners and are actively pursuing further leads.”
Three additional suspects have also been arrested in connection with the case. Further investigation is underway.
