Baramulla, April 24: In a continuing crackdown on drug trafficking, Baramulla Police apprehended two individuals and recovered a significant quantity of contraband substance during a routine checkpoint operation.
According to police sources, a team from Police Post Mirgund, led by the in-charge, intercepted an Alto vehicle (registration number JK01V-3940) at a checkpoint at Check Raza Khan. The vehicle was occupied by Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Ahad Shah, a resident of Lolab Kupwara currently residing in Rambailgarh, and Khushboo Jan, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Parray, also a resident of Rambailgarh.
Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered approximately 794 grams and 352 grams of Charas-like powdered substance from the duo’s possession. Both suspects were immediately taken into custody, and the vehicle used in the offense was seized.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Pattan, and further investigation is underway.
Police have once again appealed to the public to assist in the fight against drug abuse by reporting any suspicious activity. Citizens can reach out to the nearest police station or dial 112 to report drug-related offenses. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to acting firmly against drug peddlers and ensuring community safety.

बारामुला, 24 अप्रैल: नशे के खिलाफ अभियान को जारी रखते हुए, बारामुला पुलिस ने दो ड्रग तस्करों को गिरफ्तार किया है और उनके कब्जे से भारी मात्रा में मादक पदार्थ बरामद किया गया है।
पुलिस के अनुसार, पुलिस पोस्ट मीरगुंड की टीम, जो कि इंचार्ज पुलिस पोस्ट मीरगुंड के नेतृत्व में चेक राजा खान पर चेकिंग कर रही थी, ने एक आल्टो वाहन (रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर JK01V-3940) को रोका। वाहन में दो व्यक्ति सवार थे — परवेज अहमद शाह, पुत्र अब्दुल अहद शाह, निवासी लोलब कुपवाड़ा (वर्तमान में रामबैलगढ़ में रह रहे हैं) और खुशबू जान, पुत्री बशीर अहमद पर्रे, निवासी रामबैलगढ़।
वाहन की तलाशी के दौरान 794 ग्राम और 352 ग्राम चरस जैसे पाउडर के रूप में मादक पदार्थ बरामद किए गए। दोनों आरोपियों को मौके पर ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया और अपराध में प्रयुक्त वाहन को भी जब्त कर लिया गया है।
पुलिस थाना पट्टन में संबंधित धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है और आगे की जांच जारी है।
पुलिस ने आम जनता से अपील की है कि नशा तस्करी या किसी भी आपराधिक गतिविधि की जानकारी नजदीकी पुलिस थाने को दें या 112 पर कॉल करें। पुलिस ने यह भी आश्वासन दिया है कि समाज को नशे के खतरे से मुक्त कराने के लिए अपराधियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
