Jammu, May 1, 2025: A delegation of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (J&K-Ladakh) today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in the wake of the heinous killing of tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, expressing deep anguish over the growing threat to civilian lives in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, the delegation strongly condemned the cowardly act, termed it an attack on peace and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, and demanded immediate and decisive action against the perpetrators. They urged the administration to ensure swift justice and send a strong message that such acts of terrorism will not be tolerated.
The delegation also discussed the security arrangements for the upcoming Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Ji Yatras, emphasizing the need for foolproof planning, enhanced troop deployment, and vigilant monitoring to safeguard the lives of pilgrims and maintain communal harmony.
“The recent incident has shaken the confidence of the people and tourists alike. It is essential for the administration to act firmly and ensure that such incidents do not recur, especially with the holy Yatras approaching,” a representative of the delegation stated.
LG Manoj Sinha assured the delegation that the administration is committed to eliminating terrorism, and all steps will be taken to provide a safe and secure environment for both residents and visitors. He reiterated that the Yatras will be conducted smoothly with robust security mechanisms in place.
