Rajouri Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Recover Heroin in Sunderbani

Rajouri | In a continued drive against drug trafficking, Rajouri Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin-like narcotic substance during naka checking in Sunderbani area.

According to police officials, a naka was established by Police Station Sunderbani at ITI Naka, Sunderbani, where a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number PB01D-8780, travelling from Jammu to Rajouri, was stopped for routine checking. During verification of passengers, one individual was found behaving suspiciously.

On conducting a personal search, 04 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Sikander Shah, son of Munawar Hussain, resident of Draj, Kotranka, Rajouri.

In this connection, FIR No. 01/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani, and further investigation is in progress. Rajouri Police reaffirmed their commitment to take strict action against drug peddlers and urged the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug abuse or trafficking.
