𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶: In a major success against cybercrime, Reasi Police has recovered 206 missing mobile phones and traced ₹33.49 lakh lost by victims in cyber frauds during the year 2026, reaffirming its commitment to protecting citizens and ensuring prompt cyber assistance.
The Cyber Police Station Reasi successfully recovered 206 missing mobile phones belonging to local residents as well as pilgrims visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Shiv Khori Shrine. The recovered mobile phones are being handed over to their rightful owners after completing the prescribed legal formalities.
In another significant achievement, the Cyber Police Station has successfully traced and recovered ₹33.49 lakh lost by victims in various cyber fraud cases registered during 2026. Out of this amount, ₹17.36 lakh has already been refunded to the victims after obtaining the requisite court orders. The remaining recovered amount is presently under the due legal process and will be released to the rightful claimants after completion of the necessary formalities.
Reasi Police has appealed to citizens and pilgrims to report missing mobile phones immediately at the nearest Police Station or Police Post. While reporting the loss, the IMEI number of the mobile phone must be provided, as it is essential for tracing the device. The IMEI number can be obtained by dialing *#06# on the mobile phone. Pilgrims who have already left the district without reporting the loss may send the details, along with the IMEI number, to [email protected] for necessary action.
The public is also advised to remain vigilant while using digital platforms and to report any cyber fraud immediately by calling the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 or by lodging a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal: www.cybercrime.gov.in.
