BJP District President Rajouri Shri Dev Raj Sharma Addresses Press Conference on VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025

Rajouri, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Rajouri, Shri Dev Raj Sharma, today addressed a press conference at the BJP District Headquarters, Rajouri, to brief the media about the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 (VB-G RAM G Bill), recently enacted by the Government of India.

Addressing media persons, Shri Dev Raj Sharma described the VB-G RAM G Bill as a historic and transformative reform aimed at strengthening rural employment, ensuring livelihood security, and aligning grassroots development with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He stated that the new legislation replaces the earlier MGNREGA framework with a more robust, transparent, and outcome-oriented rural employment guarantee system.

Shri Sharma highlighted that under the VB-G RAM G Act, the guaranteed employment days for rural households have been enhanced to 125 days per year, providing greater income stability to rural families. He emphasized that the Act prioritizes creation of durable and productive assets, sustainable rural infrastructure, water conservation projects, and village-level economic activities, ensuring that employment generation directly contributes to long-term rural prosperity.

The BJP District President further stated that the new Act introduces stronger transparency, accountability, and monitoring mechanisms, ensuring timely wage payments, improved worksite management, and efficient implementation. He added that the revised funding pattern strengthens cooperative federalism while ensuring adequate financial support to rural employment initiatives, with special focus on hilly, border, and special category regions such as Jammu & Kashmir.

Responding to criticism and misinformation being spread by opposition parties, Shri Dev Raj Sharma categorically clarified that the VB-G RAM G Bill is not a dilution of workers’ rights, but a progressive reform designed to address longstanding issues of the previous system, including payment delays, lack of durable asset creation, and administrative inefficiencies. He said the opposition’s objections are politically motivated and ignore the long-term welfare and development benefits for rural India.

Replying to a media query, Shri Dev Raj Sharma strongly objected to a recent statement made by a Congress leader during a press conference, wherein Shri Ram was referred to merely as a man. Shri Sharma said that such remarks are deeply insensitive and hurt the religious sentiments of millions of people. He stated that Shri Ram is not only a historical figure but a revered symbol of faith, moral values, and cultural ethos for crores of Indians, and any attempt to undermine this belief reflects a lack of respect for the country’s spiritual and civilizational heritage. He added that political discourse should be conducted with responsibility and sensitivity, and no leader has the moral right to insult the faith of the people for political mileage.

Shri Sharma also informed that the BJP Rajouri District unit will soon launch extensive awareness and outreach programmes at village and panchayat levels to educate the public about the provisions, benefits, and implementation process of the VB-G RAM G Act, ensuring maximum participation, transparency, and accountability.

Several senior BJP leaders were present during the press conference, including District General Secretaries Shri Pushpinder Gupta and Shri Sanjay Sharma, State Co-Convenor Refugee Cell Shri Subash Sharma (Retd. ADDC), State Co-Convenor Urban Local Bodies Cell Adv. Arif Ranjha, Convenor Panchayati Raj Cell Shri Karan Saryal, District Secretaries Shri Radhish Sharma, Shri Bikram Singh, and Shri Jasbir Singh, along with Mandal Presidents Shri Tarun Vasson, Smt. Shikha Bali, and Shri Des Raj Sharma, who expressed strong support for the landmark rural employment reform.

Concluding the press conference, Shri Dev Raj Sharma reiterated the BJP’s unwavering commitment to rural welfare, employment generation, and inclusive development, stating that the VB-G RAM G Bill is a decisive step towards empowering villages, strengthening the rural economy, and realizing the dream of a developed and self-reliant India.
